Welcome 1's kiddos and families! For the start of the 2nd full week of school and to embrace summer as long as possible (ha!), we learned all about... Watermelon! I brought in a watermelon and we had fun rolling it back and forth, playing the drums with it and rolling it in paint! We read, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and pointed out the slice of watermelon that the caterpillar ate! We made a watermelon sensory bag using red soap and raisins! We all loved feeling the cool and squishy consistency! We made paper plate watermelons, sponge painted to make watermelons and of course got to sample this delicious fruit! In our free play, we enjoyed getting acclimated to the new classroom, exploring the gym and going on walks! Take a look at our fun week!
