The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

  March 27th-March 31st

      C is for Caterpillar!

Well it is officially Springtime! What better way to get in the spirit of spring, than learn about caterpillars and butterflies?! Last week we read the big book of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.  The children LOVED being able to point out the caterpillar and watch as he developed into a beautiful butterfly! They also liked to point out each food the caterpillar had eaten! We did several fun caterpillar and butterfly activities throughout the week!

While we read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", the kids got to feed the caterpillar we made! Each child would take turns putting the specific food in the caterpillar's mouth! This was great fine motor practice! We also decorated a giant caterpillar with green items, used marshmallows to stamp a caterpillar, traced lines,  and dyed pasta noodles to make caterpillars and butterflies for our sensory bin! We sang caterpillar songs on the Ipad, and spent a lot of time in the gym playing with new toys working on our gross motor development! Take a look at our fun week!
